Malaria – Malaria occurs due to the presence of plasmodium parasite of which, we have four species that make up it. However, researchers have proven that in Nigeria, plasmodium falciparum causes majorly malaria.

Only female mosquito spread the parasites. When a mosquito bites a person who has this parasite, it soaks the persons blood which contains the parasite. When the mosquito bites someone else, it injects the parasites into the person.
However, once the parasite enter your body, they travel to your liver, and in your liver they multiply. Thereby invading into your red blood cell causing a serious harm in their and when the parasites has accumulated the red blood cell in the sense that it can no longer withstand, it burst. This is how the parasite spreads in your body.

Consequently, when someone with malaria is bites by mosquito, the mosquito itself become infected. And it is important to note that this disease is a communicable disease. Thus, parents are therefore advise to seek for medical attention if noticed in their children.
This infection disease can occurs due to the presence of parasite but, not virus or bacteria. The symptoms of this disease resembles flu because, it would also develops when mosquito invade your body.
Hence, the signs and symptoms include;
- Chest pain
- Yellowing of skin
- Confusion would arise in your body
Although, this symptoms might sound mild for the first time but severely if the malaria becomes cerebral. The later symptoms of malaria would include;
- Kidney failure
- Liver failure
- Respiratory distress
- Swelling and rupturing of the spleen
- Low blood sugar
The diagnosis of this disease depends on which types of malaria that has manifested in your body. It is important that we care for for our body thoroughly by maintaining hygienic and ensuring that the disease gives a way to your body by treating it.
